What made it great were a few things.
1. Local, and a smaller lender compared to some of the others we also looked at.
2. Invited me to sit down in the office prior to taking him on board, after all the relevant checks and credits needed on their end.
3. Went above and beyond in breaking down how this would work financially and where we are able to maneuver in terms of taking on a loan, the sie of house.
4. Didn't try to sell me on them explicitly but answered the questions I had as honestly as he could.
5. Didn't try to get me to over-stretch myself when it came to loan size and the amount of house we could afford vs what we wanted to stick to.
6. Was communicative in every step of the process, all the way from idea of search to close, while answering any questions that I would need to know prior, while setting expectations realistically to the process.
7. Provided me with plug-and-play financial worksheets to help me understand the amortization schedule and how certain percentages relate, along with downpayment amounts, which went a very long way.
